A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS
Before your first cue.
Is Cue Magic the same app as Audio Cues?
Yes. Cue Magic is the new name for Audio Cues. Existing libraries, settings, bookmarks, and prepared transcripts remain compatible.
What do I need to run it?
A Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, and your audio files. Cue Magic is a native Mac app. There is currently no iPhone, iPad, or Windows version.
Does it need an internet connection?
Playback of downloaded local audio and reading saved transcripts work offline. Download cloud-only files before your session. New transcription needs internet access. The Founders’ Edition plays local audio offline without in-app activation; private In-House invitations require periodic online renewal.
Can I use files in Dropbox or Box?
Yes, through their folders on your Mac. Your playlist metadata travels alongside your media. Make your recordings available offline before a live session; Cue Magic will not silently stream a cloud-only clip.
How does transcription work?
Direct builds can use your own AssemblyAI account, with its key kept in your Mac’s Keychain and provider charges paid separately. We’re preparing an optional managed plan so you can request transcripts without a provider key. It is not open for purchase yet. Saved transcripts stay usable after cancellation. Machine-generated words and timing may need checking.
How can I get Cue Magic?
Buy the Founders’ Edition for $19.95. Checkout is handled by Stripe; you download the notarized app straight away. If you have a private invitation, follow its installation instructions.
Do I need a transcription subscription to play audio?
No. Permanent app ownership and optional new transcription are separate. Canceling a transcription plan does not remove a Direct app license, local playback, or the saved transcripts you already have.
Where do I recover my license?
Keep your completed Stripe receipt as proof of purchase. For a missing receipt, old email address or invitation, contact support. In-app activation and self-service license recovery are being prepared for a future update.
